Oatmeal and Fruit the Easy Way

Everyone knows that the Keurig is the easiest way to make a cup of morning coffee, but you can make it a part of a healthy breakfast, too. This oatmeal recipe uses a Keurig to prepare quick oats. One of the best things about this is that many modern offices now have a Keurig in the break room, meaning that even if you didn’t have time to make breakfast at home, you can prepare a healthy breakfast right there in the office in only about five minutes!

To prepare this recipe, fill a bowl with quick cooking rolled oats. Simply put your bowl under the Keurig (we’ve shown the Elite model, available from Target for 109.99) and set it to the largest cup size. Once the water has filled the bowl, stir well and cover the bowl for about five minutes. This will cook your oats. Now, to give them some flavor without making them unhealthy, add a small teaspoon of Stevia or, better yet, some fresh fruit. Blueberries are great for adding a bit of sweetness while also adding the benefit of antioxidants and vitamins to an already healthy breakfast!

Breakfast Tacos

We all love tacos, and breakfast tacos are no different. This recipe is prepared with liquid egg substitute to help eliminate some calories without eliminating flavor, and it can be made in a total of ten to fifteen minutes. Better still it is incredibly delicious and doubling or tripling the recipe to make a healthy breakfast for the whole family couldn’t be easier, making this one of our favorite healthy breakfast recipes!

To make this recipe, you will need a nonstick skillet. We’ve shown the Love, Peace, and Taco Grease skillet from the Guy Fieri collection, available from Target for $19.99. Take two corn tortillas and top each of them with about a tablespoon of salsa and a tablespoon of shredded, reduced fat cheese (we prefer cheddar, but you can pick your favorite). Heat the tortillas, covered in this mixture, in the microwave for about 30 second or until the cheese melts. While the tortillas are cooking and waiting in the microwave, put some nonstick spray on your nonstick skillet and heat it over medium heat. Add in your egg substitute and stir the eggs until they are fully cooked through. This should only take about ninety seconds. When your scrambled eggs are done, simply divide them between the two taco shells. That’s all it takes to make this healthy, delicious breakfast! And if you are looking to save on this or any nonstick skillet (or any of Target’s other great items), don’t forget to use one of our Target Promo Codes.

Energy Rich Smoothie

Smoothies are a great way to take breakfast on the go, and much healthier than a giant mug of coffee. This smoothie recipe is definitely among our favorite healthy breakfast recipes, and it is a great way to jump start the day. Packed with antioxidants and nutrients as well as protein while low in calories and fat, this is definitely one recipe you will want to save, because it tastes delicious! If you’re looking to take your smoothie on the go, you’re going to need a travel mug, and this great Vera Bradley Travel Mug in Plum Crazy ($19.00) is a stylish way to take your smoothie to work! Better still, use our Vera Bradley Coupons and save even more!

To make this great smoothie, you will need a few ingredients. You will need one and a quarter cups of orange juice (we recommend the kind with calcium added), a banana, a half cup low-fat plain yogurt, one and a quarter cups of frozen berries, and a tablespoon of honey for added sweetness. Once you have your ingredients together, simply put them into a blender and put on the cover. Blend the ingredients until they are fully mixed and creamy and pour into a glass or travel mug and enjoy!

If smoothies are your thing, you will find that there are many healthy and delicious breakfast smoothie recipes out there. Smoothies are great because they take moments to make, yet they can provide you with nutrients and energy to last until lunchtime with ease. If breakfast smoothies are for you, you are going to want a quality blender. We recommend the Hamilton Beach Smoothie Start blender, available from Target for only $39.99.

Although it has been said so many times that people have stopped listening, breakfast really is the most important meal of the day and it can impact everything from how you perform at work to your mood and energy levels.
